A Case of Myelofibrosis associated with Neuroblastoma

Abstract
Myelofibrosis is rare in children. Most of the cases are idiopathic. Characteristic findings of this disease are hepatosplenomegaly, anemia often with nucleated RBCs and tear drop forms, immature leukocytes in peripheral blood smear, large misshapen platelets, normal or elevated leukocyte alkaline phosphatase, extramedullary hematopoiesis, and variable degrees of myelofibrosis.
Neuroblastoma is one of the most common malignant tumor in infant and children, which arises from sympathetic nervous system.
This is almost always lethal in children when regional extension or dissemination exists at the time of diagnosis.
We had experienced a case of myelofibrosis associated with neuroblastoma in 4 years old girl.
The diagnosis was made by clinical features, hematological studies, radiological studies, and pathological examination.
A review of literature was made briefly.
